"When my family visited St Gabriel’s in the spring of 1999, all that stood was the foundation and a promise that the school would open 5 months later. Being part of the first graduating class had unexpected benefits of allowing us create traditions which are still in place today and put our permanent mark on this unique institution which fosters community, fellowship and spiritual growth."
Marissa studied government and economics at Bowdoin College. She is now living in New York managing online marketing for American Express.

“I had a very small math class with Mr. Scallon that sparked a passion for math as it applied to so many enjoyable problems solving applications. It was always tough to beat Ms. Robson’s English projects and Mr. Wiggins’ Texas History course. I looked forward to those each day. Thank you so much Saint Gabriel’s!”
Evan specialized in electronic materials at Cornell and graduated with a BS in Materials Science & Engineering. He now works for a Smart Grid Technology company as an Electrical & Test Engineer, continuing his passion for renewable energies.

"My extra-curricular opportunities and accomplishments that I had at St. Gabriel's helped to orient me towards becoming an engaged student both in high school and later on in college. I believe that being active with my peers, and getting involved in what was happening with the school allowed me to achieve all that I did both in and outside of my academic career."
During her time at Boston College, Megan was involved in the Big Sisters of Boston and the American Red Cross, where she organized clothing and blood drives. As a research assistant with SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment) at St. Elizabeth's Caritas Hospital, she was able to present her work at the 2010 Catholic Health Assembly. Megan is currently finishing prerequisites before applying to graduate school to become a Physician Assistant.

“St. Gabriel’s gave me the basic foundation on which I built the rest of my education. Communication skills, basic core values, organization, and work ethic were taught until they became second nature to me. These assets helped me excel in gaining engineering internships at companies like NASA and Continental Airlines.”
Stephanie Matyas, a senior engineering student at UT Austin, is an honors student with numerous awards and internships to her credit. She recently studied at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, where she participated in two large-scale renewable energy projects.

New York University - Major: Vocal Performance with Specialization in Musical Theater
"St. Gabriel's gave me a strong foundation in all aspects of my life. It nurtured my artistic and musical side that soon blossomed into a never ending love affair with singing and performing anything I can anywhere I can! My study habits and organizational habits that I learned at St. Gabriel's have come to the college setting with me and have enabled me to maintain a 3.8 GPA and 4 consecutive semesters on the Dean's List at New York University."
Amanda studies voice with musician and teacher Michael Ricciardone; tap with Lars Rosager, an original performer in the Broadway production of " A Chorus Line;" and Music Theatre & Jazz with John Anzalone, an original cast member in the Broadway touring production of "Cats." In the Spring of 2010, her sophomore year, she was the youngest person cast in NYU's production of Mozart's comedic opera "Cosi Fan Tutte." She regularly auditions outside of school and would like to pursue a Masters in vocal performance at NYU.

While studying at Singapore American School, Lauren achieved the EARCOS Global Citizenship Award, which is presented to a student who is “respectful of the diversity of other nations, aware and empathetic, and strongly committed to engagement and action to make the world a better place.”

“St. Gabriel’s not only gave me a good education, but it taught me the deeper values and virtues that you need to succeed. The teachers instill a true drive to learn and dare you to dream. This drive that I achieved at St. Gabe’s has carried me in everything I do, inside and outside of school.”
Brody received the Presidential Scholarship Award from St. Michael’s, and he formed his own non-profit. “Beyond the Bases” provides baseball scholarships and equipment to kids who can’t afford baseball essentials; for his work, Brody received KVUE’s 5 Kids Who Care Award.

Crystal Mountain, Class of 2010

Sophomore Crystal Mountain tried out and was selected as an All-American Cheerleader and traveled to London over Christmas break to perform in the City of London’s annual New Year’s Day Parade. The parade performance was the culmination of a week’s worth of activities for the 600 students who represented the United States and their schools in the Universal Cheer Association sponsored trip. |
