She loves teaching because she loves having the opportunity to impact the lives of young children.     Aubrey joins the fourth-grade team this year as the English Language Arts teacher. She earned a B.A. in Hispanic Studies at College of Charleston and later an M.A in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of the Pacific in Stockton.

    Heather has spent all her professional life working with children and helping them realize their own personal best - something that brings her immense joy.  

    In this capacity, she has worked in both the private and public school sectors.  Heather spent most of her public school career in a district where there were over 50 different languages represented and it was consistently ranked as one of the top 5 districts in the state.  She has also worked with students from third grade through high school in a private online school setting developing unique programs which fit the demands of life and learning styles.

Originally from Maine, Ivy earned her Bachelors of Science in Secondary English Education from Drake University. Ivy loves teaching strategies that focus on student-led discussions, as well as integrating outdoor education into the Middle School experience.

Jay sums up his love of teaching with the following quote from John F. Podojil: “Teaching is not a profession; it's a passion. She came back to the U.S. for college and graduated from the University of Maine at Augusta with her degree in library science. She began her career as a school librarian in Maine, and moved to Austin nine years ago to be closer to family. Before coming to St. Gabriel's, she was the Librarian at Harmony School of Innovation here in Austin.

  • Tommy Romano, PE Teacher

    Tommy Romano comes to St. Gabriel’s after spending the past eight months in Kunming, China where he was coaching basketball to boys and girls ages 4-18. Prior to working in China, Romano was the PE teacher at Calabasas Middle School for two years (2016-2018) in Rio Rico, Arizona. A native of Austin, Romano graduated from Westlake High School in 2007 where he was Co-captain of the Varsity Basketball team with Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles.

    Van Tracy directs the middle school choir and spring musical theater production as well as teaching the 3rd and 4th grade general music classes.  Van graduated from the esteemed University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music with a B.A. in Musical Theater, and is a member of Actors Equity Association.  After 10 years as a professional actor and musician, Van changed course and obtained his Juris Doctor from Fordham University Law School in New York City.  Van’s law career included trial work with the NYC Corporation Counsel and then corporate law after moving from NYC to Austin in 2008.

    Tracy Robson, MSN-RN, BC-WHNP is the school nurse for St. Gabriel’s Catholic School.  She was a substitute nurse for 4 years, then joined the St. Gabriel’s family full time in 2018.
