Riley Litherland, Director of Student Activities

Riley Litherland is St. Gabriel’s Catholic School Director of Student Activities. Riley has been a part of the St. Gabriel’s family since 2013 and is passionate about providing opportunities for students to find and pursue their passions outside of the classroom.

Riley earned his BS in Kinesiology from The University of Texas at Austin and his M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from The University of Texas at Arlington. Riley began his career in education in 2011 in Austin ISD. He then pursued coaching and teaching opportunities in Lockhart ISD; teaching Conversational Spanish, Middle School PE and Heath, and Economics while coaching high school football and baseball. After marrying his wife, Riley relocated to Austin and began teaching Lower School PE, Middle School Health and Athletics and coaching flag and tackle football and basketball at SGCS.  In 2016, he began his tenure as the Director of Student Activities.

Riley grew up in Arlington, Texas. When he is not watching a football game on Saber Field or catching basketball practice in the gym, you can find him enjoying Mexican food, spending time with his children and family, and cheering the Longhorns, Cowboys, and Rangers. On top of his bucket list is to travel around the country and watch a baseball in each major league stadium.
