Blanca Plazas Snyder, 8th Grade Math Teacher

Blanca Snyder teaches Geometry, Algebra, and Introduction to Algebra classes. She joined St. Gabriel’s in 2018, bringing with her 10 years of experience across a range of educational settings: teaching research methods at the post-secondary level, working as a research analyst on understanding ways to improve higher education opportunities for Hispanic students in Texas and then later in policy at the national level, and guiding students through the transition from high school to college. Blanca loves teaching middle school students and feels incredibly grateful to have the privilege to be part of a wonderful community of educators and families. Blanca feels that God called her to education.

Blanca was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She is a native Spanish speaker. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a minor in Applied Psychology from DePaul University, a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Miami, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Quantitative Statistics from the University of Houston. When she is not teaching, you’ll find Blanca enjoying time with her four children and husband outdoors. She also loves running and hiking.
