Dr. Laura Lopez
Head of Middle School
Dr. Laura Lopez brings over two decades of extensive experience and a diverse educational background. Her professional journey includes serving as a classroom teacher, Department Chair, Curriculum Director, and Head of Lower School. Laura holds a Bachelor of Science from St. Xavier University, a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from Loyola University, and a Doctorate in Mathematics Education from The University of Houston. She also holds a nonprofit management certificate from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Most recently, Laura completed the Fellowship for Aspiring Heads through the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), further enriching her expertise in educational leadership. Beyond her professional endeavors, Laura is deeply committed to philanthropic causes. She actively engages in animal rescue efforts, volunteering with Best Friends Animal Society and the SPCA. Despite spending 14 years in Houston, Laura maintains a solid connection to her hometown of Chicago, where she enthusiastically cheers on her beloved Cubs and Bears.
