Victoria Fabiano, Class of 2002

Head of Enterprise Customer Development, Google Cloud Platform
While attending the NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study, she created her own major titled “Consumer Psychology” which was an intersection of psychology, behavioral economics and marketing. With that drive for more, Victoria continued her studies and received an MBA with a concentration in operations and entrepreneurship at NYU Stern School of Business.

Victoria laughs when reflecting on a pivotal moment while at St. Gabriel’s Catholic School. “I was told in middle school that I was a monopolizer and that I didn’t work well with others. From that, I was challenged by teachers to listen generously and understand my own strengths, while allowing the space for others to do the same. I vividly remember working on a team to build a bridge out of toothpicks; we all had different ideas for how it should be done! This was a turning point in my ability to collaborate effectively and even though we came in almost dead last with our design, that experience stayed with me because we all grew so much through the process. While I learned to be an independent thinker, I also learned the power of team work!”

Now with an exciting career at Google, Victoria calls upon life lessons of spiritual, intellectual, and physical balance to keep her grounded and inspired. Her unparalleled work ethic, the grit to excel in all things, and the joy she finds in taking risks has led her to achieve countless awards and accolades. She was named the 2002 Athlete of the Year at St. Gabriel’s, was on the NYU Deans List year after year, was Managing Editor of the Stern Opportunity Student Newspaper, received the 2014 Ken Langone Service Award as well as the 2015 NYU President’s Service Award, and was a 2015 All-University Commencement Speaker Nominee, just to name a few.

“It’s interesting how life comes full circle," she says. “I remember the first time I walked into an SGCS classroom lined with new computers. The screens were brightly illuminated with the word “Google!” Who would have known then in 7th grade that I would be growing a successful career with Google?!”

When asked what it means to be a St. Gabriel’s alumnus, she says, “it means being connected to a special group of people who is focused on becoming good human beings, with an academic foundation to transform the world of ideas into a world of endless possibilities.”
St. Gabriel's Catholic School is an Independent Catholic school in Austin TX, educating children in preschool, kindergarten, elementary, and middle school.
