Our Mission and Vision

Mission Statement

St. Gabriel’s Catholic School educates children in a Christ-centered environment that fosters character formation through scholastic excellence and physical, emotional, and spiritual growth.

Vision Statement

The St. Gabriel’s community will flourish by providing a superior educational experience in a loving Catholic environment that calls forth excellence in the lives of our students.
“The St. Gabriel’s Community” is comprehensive.  It includes students, parents, alumni, faculty, and staff working together as essential practitioners within St. Gabriel’s. Our success is mutually dependent. It is essential to grow continually as individuals, as a school, and as a community. St. Gabriel’s enhances not only skills that are related to knowing how to do things, but also skills that apply to living alongside others and growing as human beings.

“Flourish” is the story of St. Gabriel's. To Flourish is to grow and develop in a healthy or vigorous way, especially as the result of a particularly favorable environment. It describes the vibrancy and health of our school.  It is essential both as the foundation for growth and to the delivery of a superior educational experience.

“A Superior Educational Experience” is a call to excellence. It is the product of instructional expertise, outstanding teachers, staff and facilities, ethical leadership, authentic knowledge of every student, rich partnerships with parents, unparalleled service, and a vibrant community.

“Loving”… charity (or love) refers to the theological virtue by which we are to love God above all things and our neighbor as ourselves. The apostle Paul tells us that love is the greatest of the theological virtues. We respect each student as an integral person and help to develop a multiplicity of skills that enrich each person. We live and model the Cardinal Virtues: Prudence, justice, temperance, and fortitude. We are a community whose values are communicated through the interpersonal relationships of our students, families, teachers, coaches, and staff.

“Catholic Environment” recognizes Christ as the foundation of the whole educational experience at St. Gabriel’s. His revelation gives new meaning to life and helps us to direct our thoughts, actions, and will, according to the Gospel, making the beatitudes our norm of life. St. Gabriel’s embraces a wider understanding of all knowledge, offering young people an integral education as well as assistance in discovering their personal freedom, which is a gift from God.

We are committed to “Calling Forth The Excellence” God places in each of us, helping our students discover and grow their unique gifts and talents while opening their hearts to God’s plan for how to best use them.

We strive to fulfill our Mission and Vision in a manner consistent with the guiding values of “Integrity, Caring, and Excellence.”
