COLLEEN LYNCH: Head of Lower School
Colleen Lynch is St. Gabriel’s Catholic School Head of Lower School. Colleen has been a part of the St. Gabriel’s family since 2014 and is passionate about contributing to a mission-driven school and helping children, teachers, and families along their educational journey.
Colleen earned her BA in International Business Relations and East Asian Studies from Brown University and her M.Ed. in Educational Administration and Principalship from The University of Texas at Austin. Colleen began her career in education in 1995 at St. Mark Catholic School in Plano, Texas, teaching Middle School theology. She then relocated to Austin and taught 4th, 6th, and 8th grades; was the Social Studies Chair and the Social Emotional Learning Coordinator at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. Colleen began her tenure at St. Gabriel’s as the Director of Curriuclum, before moving to her role as Head of Lower School in 2015.
Colleen grew up in Arlington, Virginia, and Tokyo, Japan. When she is not greeting Lower School students by name each morning, you can find her enjoying Italian food, spending time with her children and family, running marathons, watching movies, or cuddling with her pet cat (Jeremiah Aloysius Seamus O’Kitty) or dog (Libby). Colleen’s favorite places in the world—outside of St. Gabriel’s—are London and Florence. She loves to travel and share her experiences in other cultures, languages, and food with the students here.
