Roxana Kappmeyer, Class of 2013

University of Texas
Roxana Kappmeyer has a passion for faith, family, and friends that was ignited during her time at St. Gabriel’s Catholic School and remains unwavering during her studies in Business School.

When asked what her biggest take away was from SGCS, Roxana responds “How important it is to have and maintain strong friendships and a strong Catholic faith." St. Gabriel’s, as she puts it, helped her “develop strong morals.”

She gives credit to the inception of this strong moral code to her middle school Spanish Teacher who “would always remind us when we prayed before class to be thankful for our happiness, health, and holiness.” She continues to remind herself to be thankful for those things today as she pursues an accounting degree at The University of Texas at Austin Mccombs School of Business.

At UT, she has received University Honors all three semesters she has been enrolled and also received the Knights of Columbus Scholarship. No newcomer to awards and accolades, Roxana also received the Sister Thecla Cain Award for academic excellence and leadership while she was a student at St. Gabriel’s

“SGCS inspired me to never take my family, friends, and faith for granted. I made so many lifelong friends there that I still call my best friends and I truly feel like my strength in my Catholic faith today is because of how much the Catholic faith was present in my time at SGCS.”
