Madison Leyens, Class of 2014

Southern Methodist University
Madison Leyens follows a calling to deepen her faith and to bring the joy of following this mission to her peers at Southern Methodist University.

Madison is heavily involved in her campus’s Catholic Center. You can even catch her having the occasional 2:00 AM theological discussion in her dorm room. Her faith-filled mission has incarnated most recently in creating deeply thoughtful liturgical art and entrance to a conversation among creatives in the Catholic community about bringing a new artistic Renaissance to the Church.

When asked how SGCS inspired her, she says “The first verse of the SGCS school song beautifully captures what I am aspiring to do in exercising my passions and in following my unique callings.” These unique callings also include pursuing a Business Management Major and Minors in Creative Computing and Mandarin Chinese.

She goes on to say, “During arguably the most formative years of my childhood, the opportunity to be in a community that was dedicated to hold true Catholic identity at the forefront of its actions to the best of its ability and was full of adults who were so committed to my holistic outcome--spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically--was the most incredible gift.”
